Key contacts: This position interacts with internal and external contacts, including customers and possibly, suppliers.
Role Requirements / Responsibilities:
LCA Group have a wide client base and growing project portfolio which includes design requirements for LV (typically 230Vac and 400Vac), building services, Security and Control systems. Depending on experience you may be asked to work on one or multiple projects and sectors or assigned to a particular large-scale project.
Preferred Qualifications:
- HNC/HND in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
- Member of the IET.
- BS7671 IET Wiring Regulations 18th Edition.
- 3+ years’ experience as an E-Plan designer.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience in Control Panel design
- Experience in LV distribution/MCC design
- Functional Safety experience
Skills:
- “Can do” work attitude with great work ethic and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Low Voltage design principles, regulations and standards including BS 7671 and the Electricity at Work Act.
- Able to use LV Power modelling tools such as Amtech Pro design.
- Able to use CAD/CAE tools such as AutoCAD and Eplan preferable.
- Ability to work to a deadline.
- Efficient worker able to produce designs in accordance with LCA Group and client standards in accordance with programme and hours budget.
Duties:
- Work within a team
- Capable and competent of understanding and complying with client scope and specification documents.
- Production of specification and commissioning documentation
- Production of manufacture designs including:
- E-plan Pro Panel
- E-plan schematics & process wire
- Heat dissipation calculations
- Bill of Materials
- Automated reports
- Provide technical support to manufacturing and testing staff.
- Review and approve designs produced by others to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, applicable standards and industry good practice.
- Be required to visit site in order to carry out surveys to enable designs to be produced, and to provide designer input during installation.
- Liaise with the Client and the Implementation team as required.
- Review design documentation and drawings in accordance with LCA Group review procedures.
- Review as-built “red-lined” drawings returned from site and Electrical Installation Testing Certification, and ensure all final drawings and documentation comply with applicable specifications and accurately reflect the site build status.
